DESCRIPTION:Join us for an educational guided tour of Sandy Creek Nature Center in Athens. Participants will explore the Nature Center's history\, environmental education programs\, exhibits\, trails\, and wildlife habitats while learning about the importance of conservation and outdoor recreation. The guided experience will highlight the role the Nature Center plays in connecting the community with nature through education\, preservation\, and recreational opportunities. Guests will also gain insight into the daily operations and maintenance efforts required to support the facility and surrounding natural areas. Program Objectives 1. Enhance participant knowledge of environmental education\, local ecosystems\, wildlife habitats\, and conservation practices through guided learning experiences at Sandy Creek Nature Center. 2. Increase awareness of the history\, mission\, and community impact of nature centers and parks and recreation educational programs. 3. Encourage exploration and creative play through the use of natural playground environments that incorporate elements from nature to support outdoor recreation\, environmental connection\, and hands-on learning experiences.
