This position is responsible for overseeing all grounds maintenance operations for parks and athletic fields within the City of Douglasville, ensuring facilities are safe, attractive, and well-maintained. Working closely with the Park Maintenance Manager, the role includes planning, directing, and supervising maintenance activities; assisting in hiring, training, and evaluating staff; and managing special projects. Duties also involve applying pesticides and fertilizers, maintaining irrigation systems, performing occasional repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations through regular meetings. The position requires strong knowledge of landscaping, equipment operation, and municipal maintenance standards, as well as organizational and communication skills. A high school diploma, five years of related experience, and a Georgia driver’s license are required, with CPSI certification to be obtained within one year. This role involves both administrative and hands-on work in an environment with heavy machinery.
