Program Coordinator
The Recreation Programs Coordinator supports the development, coordination, and administration of recreational programs, community events,
and facility operations. The position ensures programs are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with departmental standards and
performing other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Recreation.
This position is a full-time position. By signing the job description, the employee agrees and understands that this position is covered by Civil
Service. This position will be eligible for standard benefits such as health / life insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO), participation in the County’s
retirement program, etc. afforded to County employees who meet the minimum full-time employee requirements as outlined in the County’s
Employee Benefit Guide.

and assigned. In order to qualify, applicants should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to:
• Develops, plans, schedules, and implements recreational programs and special events.
• Coordinate program logistics, registrations, and participant communication.
• Monitor program attendance and performance; prepare routine reports.
• Support daily operations of the department.
• Maintain safe, clean, and properly equipped program environments.
• Provide customer service to participants, parents, volunteers, and community partners.
• Assist with purchasing, budget tracking, and vendor coordination.
• Manages the concession operations (stocking, inventory and scheduling of part-time employees).
• Support recruitment, training, and scheduling of part-time or seasonal staff.
• Manages the social media platforms, website and marketing aspects of the department.
• Assist with the daily administrative duties of the department to include taking daily deposits to the bank / finance office, going to the post
office, and any other business-related errands.
• Maintain the volunteer management log. Verify background checks are on file and valid.
• Work Schedule will be Monday through Friday (8:00a – 5:00p) with night and weekend work when special events are taking place or
scheduled by the Director.
• Develop working relationships and communicate with national, state, and local organizations and departments while participating in
recreation related functions and activities.
• Work and act as a team player in all interactions with other County employees, provide a high level of customer service at all times, project
and maintain a positive image with those contacted in the course of work, and consistently provide quality service.
• Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of one to three years
of experience, in all phases of recreation and / or program operations -OR- any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Special Requirements: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Driver’s License. Ability to drive and operate the department’s assigned
vehicles and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Once employed, must attend the first Non-Security Detail Class offered for training on inmate
transport; must attend the annual renewal course for this training.
(ADA) MINIMUM PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIREDTO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Must be
physically able to operate a variety of departmental equipment and tools. Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or
materials. Must be able to exert up to fifty (50) pounds of force occasionally and up to thirty (30) pounds of force frequently. Physical demand
requirements are at levels of those for active/medium work. Must be able to lift and carry weight of thirty (30) pounds.
