Glennville, Georgia is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Recreation Director. The Director works at the discretion of the Glennville Recreation Commission. The Director manages the overall administration of the Glennville Recreation Department. 

At a minimum, the Director will: 

● Plan, organize, and direct the activities, programs, and operations of the Recreation Department. 

● Coordinate the design, construction, renovation, and maintenance of all Recreation facilities. 

● Prepare annual budget requests; Secure competitive bids, evaluate vendors, conduct purchases and monitor expenditures in accordance with the adopted budget. 

● Develop and implement department policies and procedures. 

● Hire, train, assign, direct, supervise, and evaluate personnel. 

● Coordinate programs and activities with community, civic, and non-profit groups. 

● Recruit, plan, schedule, market, and coordinate events. 

● Operate equipment required for maintenance. 

● Attends meetings and athletic competitions as required. 

● Markets athletic and special events. 

● Supervises the operation of concessions. 

● Seek and secure grants. 

● Maintain a driver license. 

Qualifications The preferred candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. However, any combination of equivalent education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities are acceptable.
