2026 Annual Conference Off-Site-Tour of the Botanical Gardens

Description
Join us for a guided behind-the-scenes tour of the State Botanical Garden of Georgia and discover the many elements that support this beautiful community destination. Participants will enjoy a one-hour guided experience featuring an overview of garden operations, facilities management, grounds maintenance, and rental venues throughout the property. Guests will learn how parks and recreation professionals help maintain vibrant public spaces while supporting education, conservation, recreation, and special events. Following the guided portion, participants are encouraged to continue exploring the gardens and trails on their own.
Learning Objectives
1.Increase awareness of the role parks, recreation, and botanical garden staff play in maintaining and enhancing public spaces for community enjoyment and environmental stewardship.
2. Provide educational opportunities that highlight facility operations, horticulture, grounds maintenance, and event venue management within a botanical garden setting.
3. Encourage community engagement, appreciation of natural resources, and continued use of parks and recreation amenities through interactive and educational experiences.
